Holistic Healing: The Guide For Mind, Body, And Spirit

To start with holistic medicine, which emerged in China, about 5 thousand years back. It considers the inner and external elements impacting the performance of the body.

The basis of the medicine is to improve the power of personal fitness, and the disease is taken an occurrence arising from the loss of stability and inner harmony of the spirit.

The main varieties of holistic medicine are:

  • Ayurveda is the traditional Indian scientific research on human life in harmony with nature and considered as one of the most ancient recovery researches. It divides people into three types (dosha or vital forces) that are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Depending on the physical and psychological qualities of each type, recommended diet plans, medications, and specific improvements are made in the individual’s way of living.

  • Acupuncture effects on the individual system by using special needles applied to acupuncture spots that activate the body’s internal energy, or “Qi” (pronounced as chee) and renew its regular circulation to make sure that the body can perform efficiently.

  • Homeopathy is the approach of treating the disease, consisting of the use of Homeopathic drugs that restore the symptoms and signs of the disease. It is founded on three concepts: Like cures, minimal dosage, and exclusive therapy.

  • Osteopathy is a healing technique focused on recovering the mobility of the spine and joints and easing off the surrounding muscular tissues. It involves the real technique on the physical body to release the specific arrangement from operational blocks of the organismic system.

  • Herbal remedies are derived from plants and are in a variety of types including essences, tablets, ointments, decoctions, and pills and are the world’s most conventional method to heal the disease. The incident of medical phytotherapy dates back to the civilization of Sumerians (native non-Semitic folks of ancient Babylonia, 3000 BC).

  • Aromatherapy is the therapy which uses vital oils and phytoncides extracted from different trees and plants to put on the skin, or for inhaling.

  • Reflexology is a procedure, which has an influence on the nerve terminals of the feet to treat the linked body organs.

The holistic medicine field also features various types of treatment and bodywork like massage therapy, hot stone therapy, qigong, Su-Jok, pilates, yoga, etc.

In our society, the prevailing view is that the healthcare system should be accountable for protecting our health and society. We need to switch all responsibility on the doctors consciously. When we have a sore, we right away go to them and start taking a mountain of prescribed medications. It is the regular way of looking after our fitness.

The multi-dimensional strategy includes using holistic medicine; but, do not focus on them solely. After all, the medication is not everything. This approach lies in the fact that our wellness is not about physical health, normal blood pressure, deficiency of persistent ailments, etc. Holistic wellness mentions the individual in its entirety and the balance of all levels of living.

In the book, Cleansing Made Simple, author Cheryl Townsley illustrates wellness as a combination of:

  • Good appetite and metabolism.
  • Healthy intestines.
  • To have healthy eyes, shiny hair, and radiant skin.
  • Flexible body and feeling stable.
  • Great memory and clear thinking.
  • No anxiety or depression.
  • Ability to appreciate your work.
  • The ability to relax and unwind.
  • Energy availability to perform needed tasks throughout the day.
  • Interact efficiently to reveal inner thoughts and emotions.
  • Good sense of humour.
  • Respect self and also others.

Hence, Holistic Health is the Health of Body, Mind, and Spirit.

If we evaluate personally in that way, then we will realize that our holistic health depends not only on the state and wellness of our physical body but also on other aspects like:

  • Relationships with the people around us.
  • A profession that will encourage and inspire to attain new objectives.
  • Proper nutrition.
  • Exercise daily to keep the body active.
  • Spirituality.
  • Favourable, generous, sincere, and homely surroundings.

And that is not all.

The difference within this method is that it needs us to accept the charge of our health and not merely put that obligation on doctors. It suggests that we require to learn how to pay attention to our mind and body and notice the signs that they transmit us. Since not everybody can do this on their own, coaches such as wellness instructors can come down to the rescue and guide you in getting on the journey in attaining holistic health.
